February Currently and a Sale

The Vitamin D stores are dwindling, so I may look back on this and realize I was a bit of a crankypants, but I'm linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy, 4th Grade for this month's Currently regardless of my sour mood!

Oh, the to-do list! Anyone else drowning in a sea of papers to correct and to-do's to do?!  Hoooowever......I am focusing on the positive. It is the weekend! On the agenda? Making a dent in the list and trying to have some fun.  And those peanut butter cups and maybe a movie, a sale here or there. Some sleep :)

Are you are as happy about the TPT Superbowl Sunday Sale as I am? I have a wishlist and a cart full of lovelies. I also have a variety of Valentine items you may enjoy in your classroom this February in my own shop. On sale this weekend! I'm linking up with Ashley over at The School Supply Addict:

Happy Weekend!

  1. I agree that there is too much to do and not enough time to do it all! I am going to have to try Trader Joe's dark chocolate pb! They sound yummy! Good luck on getting the to-do list tackled!

    1. Thanks, Kate. You HAVE to find a Trader Joe's. It's awesome.

  2. I'm counting down the days until my February break, too! January felt like forever! I have a massive to-do list also, which all of my teacher friends make fun of me for using. But if you've got a lot to do, how can you remember it all? I love your blog style!

    1. Thank you! I can't remember anything without writing it down these days. I just checked out your blog and I'm fascinated. It sounds like your experience in the Middle East has some extreme ups and downs.

  3. I still have yet to make it to a Trader Joes, but I want to go so badly!!

Amen about the to-do list. I check one off and add 4 more. Yikes. And I should probably be working now but I'm reading blogs. But I'm networking with teachers so that's kinda working, right? :o)

    (And I used to pop my gum all the time...but I don't now...I know it's annoying...) :O)

    1. Amanda--I'm doing the same, so when I get nothing done on the list today, I'll have all sorts of guilt and such. I think the winter weather has zapped my motivation this week.

    2. When you commented and said you only have a month until testing I about died. A MONTH?? I can't fathom that Heather!!!! Holy moly...you seem very calm though so you were probably better at pacing than I was. I need to do SO MUCH better next year about staying on track. It's my 2nd year in 4th so I think by next year I'll have a better handle on it (I hope!)

    3. I am so NOT calm, but I'm glad I seem that way! Pacing is so tricky if you are differentiating. I've had to slow down on some things this year. I know it is the right thing to do for the kids, but it's hard not to worry about the test looming in the background...

  4. Oh my goodness, your blog design is so cute. I love it! I'm jealous you have a February break. My coworker and I were just talking about how we have no days off in February, and really no days off until the end of March!

    1. Thank you! OMG--I haven't a clue how I would make it without this vacation coming up. It's just so dreary here and some time with family and just to slow down is badly needed. You poor thing!

  5. I feel the same way about having a ton of things to grade, grades to post online, and I have FOUR IEP referrals to complete before Monday. I am bit overwhelmed this weekend.

I'm glad I found your blog through Farley! I teach third grade LA, but I am always looking for higher thinking activities for some of my higher buddies. I'm becoming a follower, now!

    1. It really is so overwhelming. I' pretty sure tht if teachers actually added up the time they spend working outside of school, our pay would almost be the equivalent working in a shoe factory in a third world country.

Thank you for your kind words!

  6. I just wrote about my to do list, also! It's all stuff I want to do, and there's just not enough time in the day! Februrary break? So jealous! Nothing here until our spring break in March. Boo.

    1. You know what, though? I used to teach at a private school 500 years ago, and we had 2 weeks in March instead of a week in February and a week in April like I have now. It was heaven. I would unwind after about 5 days and still have more than a week to look forward to. Now by the time I feel relaxed, it's time to go back!

  7. A break in February sounds pretty great. Hope you can whittle away at your to-do list so you have more time to just sit back and relax!
